Flint，其實只是密抄西根的一個鎮吧，不過美國都叫市。環境還不錯，便利設施不像國內那樣方便，畢竟這邊地廣人稀，很多大型超市也都坐落在離居民區較遠的地方。但是這邊沒有工交車計程車，出門都是自己開車的，所以也不會覺得有多遠。一般的小型24小時超市倒是相對會多一些。這些還要取決於你住的地區了。不知道你要找什麼娛樂項目，如果是像國內的酒吧ktv什麼的，這邊就別想啦！會在downtown有一些pub，不過也都是喝喝酒聊聊天這樣。密西根的冬天很多雪，要能適應這邊的氣候哦~~~不知道能不能幫到你~我在rochester~

歷史

13～16世紀大批印第安人曾在里帕布利肯河和布魯河流域建立農業社區。1541年西班牙探險家科羅納多為尋找黃金到此。1682年此地歸法國所有，法國皮毛商與印第安人在此進行頻繁交易。1803年根據購買路易斯安那協議讓給美國。1803 年歸屬美國。1861年建州後加入聯邦，為美國第34州。

一八三一年開始殖民。一八六一年一月二十九日成為美國第三十四州。以向日葵花（Sunflower）為州花。堪薩斯州別名叫做「向日葵之州」Sunflower-State。堪薩斯州箴言：「排除萬難，追求幸福」To the Stars through Difficulties.

據美國人口調查局統計，底特律佔地370.2平方公里，其中陸地面積為359.4平方公里、水域面積為11平方公里。全市最高點位於城市西北部，海拔約為204米；全市最低點則位於底特律河沿岸，海拔約為176米。底特律市內還完全包圍著另兩座城市：哈姆特拉姆克和海蘭帕克。
底特律是美加邊境上唯一的一座大城市，它與加拿大溫莎通過大使橋、底特律-溫莎隧道、底特律中央鐵路隧道和底特律-溫莎車渡相連。 法國人路易·亨內平乘船沿底特律河航行時發現，河的北岸有一塊理想的定居之地。1701年，法國軍官安托萬·德拉莫特·卡迪亞克以路易十四的海軍大臣蓬查特蘭伯爵為名，在此建立了底特律河畔蓬查特蘭堡（Fort Pontchartrain Détroit），作為皮毛交易中心，同時也為往來於五大湖的法國軍艦提供保護。

底特律於2013年7月18日正式申請破產，預料會成為美國規模最大的城市破產案。密歇根州州長施耐德當天批准了底特律申請破產的有關文件，表示底特律已經無法收取足夠的稅收來滿足各項義務，只有通過申請破產來避免局勢進一步惡化。 一、政府財政收入過於單一。
底特律財政收入過於單一。城市80%的經濟依靠汽車產業，產業單一造成財政收入來源單一，風險極大。當所倚重的產業興旺蓬勃時，財政收入直線上升，而產業一旦遇到困難，財政受到的打擊也會格外巨大。
二、稅收人口大量流失，稅基萎縮。
底特律一度是美國第四大城市，1950年人口達到180萬人。由於民權運動引發的種族緊張局勢以及該市發生的極具破壞力的騷亂，使得白人和中產階級流向郊外，減少了城市的稅收基礎。
三、美國汽車業競爭力的下降。
底特律曾是全球知名的汽車城。不過隨著日系、歐系汽車的崛起，美國汽車業的競爭力不斷下降，在全球的份額也在下滑，和當年的風光已經不可同日而語，底特律的下滑也成為不可逆轉的事實。
四、未能應對新技術的沖擊。
底特律曾經是美國汽車業的誕生地，但由於工廠自動化程度提高，或者被外包出去，再加上亞洲競爭者搶走了市場份額，大僱主們不得不一波又一波地裁員。
五、難以得到政府資金救助。
根據美國法律的規定，除非面臨自然災害，否則禁止聯邦政府對州和地方政府實施直接救援。 底特律市地處大湖工業區居中位置。汽車製造業為城市工業的核心部門，與汽車製造業有關的鋼材、儀表、塑料、玻璃以及輪胎、發動機等零部件生產相當發達，專業化、集約化程度很高。汽車年產量約佔全國的1/4；從業人員近20萬，約佔全市職工總數的40%以上。
市內有福特、通用、克萊斯勒和阿美利加4家美國最大的汽車製造公司的總部及其所屬企業。其他重要工業部門有鋼鐵、飛機和坦克製造、化學、金屬加工、木材加工等。
工廠企業主要分布在底特律河西岸，以及西南的迪爾伯恩、西北的龐蒂亞克和弗林特等衛星城鎮。底特律市是美國第六大大都會，為世界著名的國際商業和工業中心，尤以汽車製造和工程技術聞名於市，底特律生產的汽車，其數量佔全球第一位。 國際機場位於西南郊，辟有19條航線；

有10條鐵路和多條公路通往各地。與溫莎間有跨越底特律河的大橋以及河底公路隧道相聯系。底特律國際機場位於西南郊，辟有19條航線。遠洋船隻的主要依靠港，美國、加拿大貿易的重要口岸。有稠密的鐵路及高速公路網與其他城市聯接。
建有3個航空港 。與溫莎間有大橋及地下隧道相聯。有圓形塔式建築群——73層的文藝復興大廈，通用汽車公司大樓（47層），退伍軍人紀念館等一系列建築，及世界上最長的吊橋。設有底特律文化中心、博物館、美術館、亨利·福特-汽車博物館及州立韋恩大學、東密歇根大學分校等文教設施和機構。
